Halloween in Hollywood Park 2020

Dear Hollywood Park:

The Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association previously sent an email newsletter with information on Sacramento County’s guidelines for trick-or-treating and other Halloween activities (Click here).  Since then, the State of California has issued “guidance” that supersedes the County.  In light of the new State announcement, HPNA follows the State of California guidance.

Here is the latest information issued by the State of California on the topic (Click Here).

Here is an article from the Sacramento Bee with the headline, “Trick-or-treating ‘strongly discouraged’ in California this Halloween” (Click Here).

HPNA is very sorry to forward this information to our residents, but we do have some good news!

HPNA is sponsoring a house decorating contest, and will have prizes for the three best decorated houses in the neighborhood. Judging will take place between October 24th and October 31st. All you have to do to participate is make sure your decorations are out by the 24th. Judges will be looking at homes at night, so be sure to leave lights on. Winners will be notified after the judging takes place.  If you are a winner, send an email to info@hollywoodpark95822.org stating that you give permission for a picture of your house to be printed in the next newsletter.

We had nine winners for the HPNA Ice-cream Decoration contest where winners received a free frozen dessert from HPNA for sending us a photo of their ice-cream themed artwork posted on a window at their home.  This month, the theme is All Things Fall, such as Apples (for Apple Hill Season), red leaves, pumpkins, etc.  Winners will have their names listed in the HPNA Newsletter (but won’t win a frozen treat as its going to be cold out soon!)  To participate, simply create some artwork, display it on your window, and send a picture of proof to info@hollywoodpark95822.org, or see the HPNA Website or the Fall issue of the newsletter for details.

We wish you all a very happy Fall season, and hope everyone is safe and well.
