Archives: Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 6:35PM

Board Members Present:
Debbie Keller, Kathleen Spitzer, Jannelle Rattigan, Jeff Lidicker, Ralph McDaniel, Lynn Humphries and Vincent Xu
There was a quorum.

There were the following guests:
Julie Scheff
Harjit Sing Gill and his son Devendra
Kyle Pimenta and Nick Okawa, Research Coordinators at UC Davis Medical Center

Prior Minutes:

Kathleen made the motion to approve the minutes from the February 11th meeting. Ralph seconded the motion.
The motion carried unanimously.

Guest Devendra Gill would like to do a race called “Rocket Race”. There was discussion regarding helping, but it was pointed out that HPNA cannot be a sponsor, unless the race is held at Hollywood Park Elementary School.

Guest Kyle Pimenta presented a report regarding sepsis in children, including information about a new study that involves what fluids are given to children in emergency rooms as treatment.

Financial Report:

Debbie reported that we currently have $7,859.71 in our account. There was a profit of $1,088.61 from January 1st through March 6th.

Membership:

Debbie report that we currently have 153 members, of which 86 are new members.

Old Business:

The election committee reported that an announcement will be made during the March 17th Community Meeting regarding the upcoming election later this year. There will also be an announcement in the next newsletter.

There was discussion regarding the June newsletter. The deadline for submission of all articles will be May 7th. Ralph asked how we are handling advertising. Debbie stated that we need to contact our current advertisers to see who wants to renew.

The question was asked if we can accept advertisements from people who are from outside our neighborhood. The answer was yes we can.

Ralph asked about distributing the “Welcome to Hollywood Park” letters. There was a brief discussion regarding that subject. No definite decision was made.

New Business:

There was discussion regarding the Community Meeting on March 17th. It was decided that Lynn will collect the names of all attendees and will draw names throughout the meeting for the prizes. Debbie will record the winners and will get contact information; ie, addresses and/or phone numbers.
