HPNA Board Meeting Minutes 202109

Members Present: Jeff Lidicker, Lynn Humphries, Kathy Spitzer, Jannelle Rattigan, Max Slavkin
There was a quorum.

Previous Minutes: Kathy made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 12, 2021 meeting. Max seconded.
The motion carried and the minutes were approved as written.

Guests: Joan Lim

Financial Report:

Lynn presented Debbie’s financial report.
The current balance in the checking account as of September 8th is $8,090.10. The profit and loss for January 1 through September 8, 2021 is $1,319.00.
The profit and loss for August 9 through September 8, 2021 is $356.88.
We currently have 171 members.

OLD BUSINESS:
September Community Meeting Agenda:
There was discussion regarding the upcoming Community Meeting. There will be someone from the City of Sacramento Recycling to talk about the food waste program.

Lt. Brian Kinney from the South Division of Sacramento City Police Department will be at the meeting to discuss various subjects, like Crime statistics in Hollywood Park compared to the rest of the city of Sacramento and the homeless issue.

Jaya King from the Mural Project will be at the meeting to provide update on the mural that’s going to be done in Hollywood Park.

Someone from CommuniTree may be at the meeting.

Jannelle will make an announcement that Jay Schinerer’s office continues to support Hollywood Park….. etc

Lynn will make the announcement regarding the upcoming election.

Jannelle suggested that we make an announcement about the Hollywood Park Yard Sale, which will be on October 2, 2021.

There will be an announcement regarding the Halloween Decorating Contest and we will ask for volunteers to help.

There will be an announcement regarding the fundraising sale of T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Pillows.

NEW BUSINESS:

Clip Magnets with HPNA Logo. It was decided that they will be white background with forrest green ink. We are going to give away the magnets at various public events.

There was discussion regarding sending a thank you letters to Jay Schinerer’s office for their support.

Max reported on a meeting that he had with Pearl and Anthony regarding an online version of our Newsletter. He will provide the board with more information by next Wednesday. Hopefully, we will be able to get sponsorships, thus providing money to the Board.

Discussion regarding the Google Group email address.

Jannelle brought up the mission and vision of the Board. There was discussion regarding what the mission is and what our vision is for the upcoming year. There was also discussion about involving more diversity in Hollywood Park events and activities as well as how to get more children involved in neighborhood activities. There was discussion regarding doing a larger 4th of July parade.

As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:13PM
